Preparing for London
I never expected to be here. I didn't think a study-abroad program was for me... I'm glad I was wrong. I'm beyond excited to start my journey (as my next post will be from London!) and finish up my work researching social media use in healthcare marketing.
Here are a few things I've learned so far:
- Social media helps promote a brand. Through my research on social media I have realized that every brand can benefit from integrating a strong social presence with their existing marketing efforts. I will reiterate from my previous post, best practices in social media are really best practices in business.
- I need to study a few dozen maps of the underground tube system so I don't get lost. Between the underground, buses, cabs, and boat rides, I'm sure to experience a few modes of transportation that I will not soon forget.
- A lot can be gained from the insight of others. I've enjoyed watching my fellow students take this journey with me. While other presentations ranged from bicycling to non-profits, cosmetics to copywriting, I've been able to gain a wealth of knowledge that would not have been possible if I was going it alone.
