Y.O.L.O.
Thames River before our dinner cruise!
Yes, YOLO stands for "you only live once." Once members of the class realized that it could also stand for "you only London once," it was all downhill. I shook my head at my overly-excited classmates and their supposed wit. Now that the experience is over, I think I should take that back.
This experience was the chance of a lifetime and I was lucky enough to take part in it. I've learned things about myself and about the business I am eager to join. I've done a great deal of research into my area of expertise (social media use in healthcare marketing, if you forgot!). I've also been able to connect with many advertising and PR professionals, which has been valuable practice on conducting myself professionally. On a personal level, I feel that I have under-estimated myself before this trip; I always worry if my presentation is good or if I really know what I'm doing. Through this experience I found out that I'm extremely good at reading maps. I was able to get my classmates and I out of a few Tube mistakes and navigate my way around the city by myself. Before this trip, I would not have walked down a city street by myself or spent an entire day wandering and exploring in a new, unknown area. One thing that I will miss about this trip is being able to navigate the complex puzzle that is the Tube station.
